Join us for the second presentation of the "Community Heritage Series" at the Cultural Centre at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 7, 2025. Innkeeper Shawn Chamberlin marks the 160th anniversary of the Dominion Hotel with rich stories from its past—featuring a few reported paranormal experiences.
Shawn and his wife, Elli, have been the owners and operators of the Dominion Hotel for over 20 years, guiding it through a much-needed complete renovation and revitalization. As Shawn says, “When you tear a building apart from the inside out, you get to know a thing or two about her. There are over 160 years of experience and stories in these walls.” Shawn has the stories that bring to life the old saying, “If these walls could talk.” When he’s not sharing tales of the Dominion, you can find Shawn tickling the ivories with his musician pals around Haliburton County.
Admission is by donation. No pre-registration is required. The Cultural Centre is located at 176 Bobcaygeon Road, Minden, Ontario, and is open Tuesday to Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
