As part of our fall programming, the Minden Hills Cultural Centre will host a free screening of A Return to Memory (2024) on Thursday, October 9, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. 

Directed by Donald McWilliams, this powerful National Film Board documentary explores the vital yet often overlooked contributions of women who helped shape Canadian cinema during World War II. Through the stories of pioneering filmmakers like Evelyn Spice Cherry, Jane Marsh Beveridge, Ruby Grierson, and Evelyn Lambart, the film highlights the role of women in building the National Film Board (NFB) international reputation.  

Presented in collaboration with the Haliburton County Public Library, this screening is open to all ages. Admission is free. No pre-registration is required.
