The Minden Hills Cultural Centre will host a free screening of Speakersfor the Dead(2000) on Thursday, February 5 at 1:00 PM.
The documentaryuncovers the forgotten history of a Black settlement in rural Ontario. When a Black cemetery is discovered to have been deliberately buried and erased decades earlier, descendants and community members work to recover the graves and confront how racism, neglect, and silence pushed Black ancestors out of local memory.
Presented in collaboration with the Haliburton County Public Library, this screening is open to all ages. Admission is free. No pre-registration is required.
